What is VAULT?
Vault is a service that is aimed at Customers who require a robust, scalable, on-demand backup service without needing to purchase, configure, or maintain the infrastructure.

Does VAULT only support servers?
DG’s Vault service protects desktops, laptops, servers, applications and databases with one solution. Basically,  Vault agents are installed on supported devices in order to make use of this service.

What can be stored in VAULT?
A variety of data can be stored on Vault. Data that is typically stored on this services are files (E.G., documents), directories (E.G., /users, c:\documents, etc.), databases (E.G., MS SQL) and applications (MS Exchange).

What is included in the Administration Support offering?
End-to-end daily (07:00 to 18:00) administration support, alert management, backup reporting and backup monitoring. This comprehensive service offering extends your existing technology team by leveraging the availability of DG’s 24/7 infrastructure.

How do we see what has been backed up and what hasn’t?
Daily reports are sent to customers. These reports provide a detailed list of the defined backup selections and provides details on backup successes and failures. In addition, a web portal is provided for customer management, monitoring, notifications and ad-hoc reporting purposes.

What is Block Level Duplication?
Data deduplication is a specialized data compression technique for eliminating duplicate copies of repeating data. Our solution tracks all changed data and only transfers the unique data within files, folders and databases to the cloud. This significantly reduces the amount of bandwidth required to move data to the cloud.

What is an OPEX model?
An operating expense, operating expenditure, operational expense, operational expenditure or OPEX is an ongoing cost for running a product, business, or system. Vault is an ongoing service billed monthly. This model mitigates the need for customers to use their capital to purchase hardware, software, services and support.

What is the cost of Vault?
Vault is billed per front-end gigabyte (GB) that requires protection. We charge for frontend data protected, not backend data stored.
